Spotify is selling its podcasts by forcing users to at least see the recommendations, which normally have nothing to do with the user experience. Podcasts get in the way of the initial Spotify experience that made them one of the biggest streaming platforms for music. You would want to hide a podcast so that you could specifically listen to music, and see music suggestions to discover new artists and genres. What we have a problem with is it being injected without the option of opting out. We don’t have a problem with it being a hybrid audio service. It began as a music streaming service, and years later, it became a place to also host podcasts. Because we didn’t ask for podcasts to be on Spotify.
